You once ran
across the field
It seems not
far from here,
You held the
ball above your head
And how they
all did cheer!
Players in
new uniforms
The band would
always play,
Nervous tension
filled the air
And the game
was on it’s way.
Oh how I miss
those golden days
The fans all
came to town,
The team would
give it all they had
The crowd
would yell, “Touchdown!”
Homecoming
was the best of all
You took me
to the dance.
There you
held me in your arms,
Beginning
our romance
Yes, you once
ran across the field
How I wish
I still could see...
The day you
won the football game
And you won
it just for me!
