"Asking for Hats"
"One day a mother and her 8-year-old daughter were walking along the beach, just at the water's edge. Suddenly, a GIGANTIC wave flashed up on the beach, sweeping the little girl out to sea. "Oh,God," lamented the mother, turning her face toward heaven and shaking her fist. "This was my ONLY baby. I can't have more children. She is the love and joy of my life. I have cherished every day that she's been with me. Give her back to me, and I'll be in church every day for the rest of my life!!!!" Suddenly, another GIGANTIC wave flashed up and deposited the girl back on the sand. The mother looked up to heaven and said, "She had on a HAT!!!!"
This is just a silly joke but it reminds me of how I treat God sometimes. It seems God gives me so much, yet I say, "What about my hat?"
Are we never satisfied? He has already given us the ultimate gift, His only Begotten Son, and that is more than we ever deserve, period. If He never gave us one more thing, that in itself should be enough and should fill us with awe and joy.
God must be sad about the "hats" I ask for sometimes. You know what though? He often lovingly smiles and gives me the "hat" also, like a gentle father who is so very good and loves SO much because it is simply His nature to love.
Remember...YOU ARE "whosoever"......insert your name:
"For God so loved so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." (John 3:16)
Jesus prayed for you before you were even born:
"I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word." (John 17:20)

(Jesus said) I'm the beginning and I Am the End And I have forgiven you for all of your sin Come unto Me my child why do you fight? My yoke is easy and My burden is light.
