THE TEN COMMANDMENTS
I heard a mother's haunting cry
Why did my child, my baby, have to die
I dropped her off at school today
And everything seemed to be okay
I didn't get to say good bye
And no one even knows the reason why
(CHORUS)
When will we wake up and turn around
The blood of our children cries out from the ground
Lord, when did our children start to fall?
The day we took the commandments off the wall.
(Verse 2)
I hear the news, there's no place to hide
Another murder, then a suicide
Where did the conscience of our nation go?
When did our morals ever sink so low?
When did our children start to fall?
The day we took the commandments off the wall.
I am the Lord your God
Teach your children these words that I give
Teach them that they might live:
You shall have no other gods before me
You shall make to Me no graven image
Do not take My name in vain
Remember the Sabbath, Keep it holy
Honor your father and mother
Thou shalt not kill
Thou shalt not commit adultery
Thou shalt not steal
Thou shalt not lie
Thou shall not covet anything
For I am the Lord your God
Teach your children these words that I give
Teach them that they might live.
